Traditional Recipe For Bajan Limeade

There is nothing quiet like going into our garden and picking some limes straight off our lime tree and making some Bajan limeade.

It really is so simple to make limeade, that even a wee child could do it.It took me about 15 minutes to make my big jug of delicious limeade, there is no rush here in the Caribbean.

This traditional recipe tasted real fine and tastes so much better than Pepsi or Coca Cola. I also found that it quenches your thirst much better than any fizzy drink ever will.

Ingredients for Bajan Limeade

About 10 small Limes {this varies depending on how much lime you squeeze out}.
About 1 Litre of water
Sugar to taste

Instructions:

Squeeze the limes into a jug with your hand.
Add water to taste.
Add sugar to taste.
Strain it.

If required you can add bitters.

Add crushed ice,
And serve.

I poured myself a delicious glass of limeade and sat down in my porch here in Barbados and watched the world go bye. Sometimes the simple things in life are so sweet.
