Another Day and Another Glorious Barbados Beach Called Silver Sands

It was another day in Barbados and the sun was shining as usual on Saturday, and I hadn’t been boogie boarding for what seemed like an eternity. So I so what could I do apart from head to a glorious Barbados beach. As anybody that has ever been here will be very aware that there are countless amazing beaches in Barbados.

The problem, which  I had was what beach was I going to head too, I had heard that there was a good beach called Silver Sands Beach, which is located on the southern tip of Barbados, and which faces the Caribbean Sea. I had a quick look of my map and as anybody that has ever tried to decipher a Barbados map, will know that they are not very good and that the road signs if you can find any are also utter garbage here as well.

Apart a few wrong turns I eventually found my way to Silver Sands Beach, it is found by going down the road just next to the Silver Sands Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when I got there because there was plenty of parking and there were toilet and shower facilities, which are also welcome after a few hours having fun in the sea.

There were a few locals going about because after all it was the weekend. Seemingly Silver Sands Beach can get fairly busy on a Saturday and especially on a Sunday as it is a very popular beach with the locals, and I can see why, but during the week it is meant to be fairly quiet.

Silver Sands Beach is quite an impressive pretty beach with some sand dunes and picturesque white sands. On my visit there were periodically some rough waves, but nothing that you would class as dangerous. It was a fairly sedate boogie boarding session, but never the less it was fun. Silver Sands Beach would be ideal for children and those that want to take things easy.

It is after all rainy season and you guessed it, the rains came on for a wee bit, but does it really matter when you are having fun in the water. I laughed as I watched an English couple running for their lives when the warm rain poured down, it was a strange site as they had there swimming gear on at the time.

During the winter months that run from mid November to the end of June, Barbados Silversands Beach is seemingly a fairly good windsurfing location. Because it is when the cooling trade winds blow with high a high frequency. I will look forward to the bigger waves that they will bring, as much as I like boogie boarding on the Atlantic Side of the Island, the sea in my mind is noticeable warmer on the Caribbean side.

Silver Sands Beach is a beach that is very much worth visiting, and I shall be returning again during the coming week when it will be nice and very quite.
