Maybe because you were a visitor, yes locals are confronted but majority of the time it is the tourist that the cocaine is pushed at, hence your experience. Drugs are every were in the world and yes they play a part in the economy believe it or not. Weed is more so the drug that is pushed but cocaine is available and is more so target to a particular 'race'. Sorry you had to come across such a experience but life as we know it does not get any better.

As far as the Government is concerned I think they are doing their part. We are not a big corrupted country influence by drugs so do not get his statement about the pushing wrong. Also 'The Gap' is a very popular area for tourist. Being a local I have been confronted once or twice due to complexion of my skin but majority of the time no.

From my knowledge of cocaine it is a 'Who you know' kind of thing and it is run by the 'big boys' who use the pyramid effect to keep from being discovered. Hence the cocaine is easier to get here but remember this, people of a country only know of the cocaine when it was captured but don't know how much was not<-(valid point)

Just want people to understand this, Barbados is a sweet, beautiful and peaceful place. Come and enjoy!

Thanks for sharing your experience and I will be visiting this blog more often.
