Loving the Boardwalk In Barbados
What an amazing wee walk I had yesterday along the boardwalk that stretches for roughly 1.2 km along the coastline between Rockley Beach and to beside the Sierra Hotel in Hastings. I had read about it in the newspaper a few weeks ago and thought I just have to pay it a visit and I wasn’t disappointed.
I would like to give praise to who ever came up with the idea to build this fantastic boardwalk, they have real vision. As anybody that has even been to Barbados will be well aware that it is a truly beautiful island with some amazing beaches and the Caribbean Sea makes me want to jump in it every time I see it.
So you can imagine how much I enjoyed the walk along the boardwalk looking at the clear blue Caribbean Sea and the almost cloudless blue skies. I must admit I had to take my trainers off and come off the boardwalk and walk in the water, I just love the feel of the water on my feet. I remember doing a similar thing back home in Scotland earlier this year and my feet turned blue from the coldness of the water in the North Sea.
The Boardwalk is a great wee walk that I hope gets used by locals and tourists alike in Barbados. I personally think it is a wonderful stroll for lovers to enjoy and if the beautiful scenery doesn’t help to create some romance when you get home, you have problems!

Thanks for telling me about it. I was looking for the perfect place to propose to my wife of forty years and I was thinking about the East Coast but we’ve been there so often, it won’t be new romantic. The new boardwalk seems the perfect place. I know, proposing to my wife? Yes, I’m proposing to her that we continue to live happily together until the end of our life. We’ve had a good beginning an almost perfect middle, I’m just looking forward for our sake and as mentors for our children and their friends that we go “until death, us do part” as the greatest love relationship ever.
It is good to here about people that have been together and are still in love after such a long time. I think the boardwalk would be the perfect place for your proposal. I also noticed a great looking restaurant called the Black Pearl that overlooks the boardwalk, which has been getting a lot of good reviews, it is seemingly pricey but worth it. I plan on taking my wife there for our next anniversary.
the view is absolutely breath-taking!
so beautiful! makes me want to move there!
It sure is beautiful and it looks even better in real life than it does in the picture.
Me and my husband have been taking our daily morning walk along this boardwalk for almost two weeks now. It´s the perfect way to start the day on this beautiful island of Barbados! You can walk up and down the boardwalk and never get tired of the amazing surroundings of the Carribean sea!
We were just there last week and had an excellent meal–the service was fantastic (didn’t even realize they were filling our glasses!) and the food was great. I had the lobster & My husband had a great steak at the Black Pearl. A+ here! I Highly Recommend it! Best We’ve been to on the island!
Well guys I thought it was rubbish! Better off for businessmen with loud voices and compant credit cards to charge. Romance was non existent….but the fake candles and black table clothes with red napkins awesome. Also though the people walking past on the broadwalk with their icecreams and KFC had a better deal. Sorry not for me. If you want a high class eatery go to St.James….ummmm…The Cliff maybe!
