Wake Me Up and Make Me Feel Alive Please
Do you ever have one of those days when you just can’t seem to wake up properly and you just feel totally lacklustre? Well today is one of those days for me, I suppose sleeping in this morning didn’t help and having to get washed, dressed and have breakfast in 15 minutes before the school run didn’t help. The icing on the cake was that the rain was absolutely lashing down this morning when I was the road.
If the weather had been a wee bit better I would have headed over to Foul Bay and had a wee dip in the cooling waters of the Atlantic Ocean, that would have woken me up real good, but that is out of the question.
A couple of cans of Power Max later and some motivational visual realization techniques that I use in emergency situations like this and I seem to be almost back in the land of the living.
My recovery process will be complete any minute now just as soon as I watch a video from one of my favourite bands of all time, The Clash performing “I fought the law and the law won”. I doubt it if many people in the Caribbean are even aware of, or are have even heard of the Clash, but here you go!
Rest, Relaxation and Recuperation For The Wandering Scotsman
It is Sunday and it is still hot and sunny here in Barbados but there is an occasional wee breeze today, which is helping this Scotsman to cope a bit better than yesterday. I have decided to take things real easy and just laze about and chill out listening to music and doing a wee bit of surfing the net.
The toughest thing I plan on doing today is roasting a breadfruit in my back garden, in fact I am a breadfruit roasting virgin, as I have never attempted this highly dangerous task by myself before. Hopefully it will all go according to plan, I have watched it been done before, so know what I’m doing. I hope I can get it to taste, as half as good as it was last time, when the wifes familly roasted one for me. I wrote about that delicious experience that you can read right here, Roasted Bread Fruit Bajan Style, A New But Delicious Experience
A great wee tune that the Wandering Scotsman is going to feature on The Barbados Blog today, which is called “There She Goes Again” and is performed by a English band from Liverpool called The La’s, it is perfect for relaxing to on warm lazy Sunday afternoon. What a fantastic song, it brings back some good memories, I remember lazing by the pool in Ibiza way back in 1989 when I first heard this song and it still sounds as good today.
Taking Things Easy In Barbados
It is Saturday and I’m taking things real easy, I’m just chilling out in my porch and enjoying the early morning warmth drinking some coconut water, which came out of coconut that was still hanging from a tree a few hours ago. If you haven’t tasted fresh coconut water, let me tell you the simple truth, you are missing out on a delicious and one of the healthiest natural drinks that you can find in the entire world.
I wrote all about the beneifts of drinking coconut water and you can read it right here, I Sure Do Love Them Coconuts They Are Delicious!
I have some sweet music blasting out of my PC and I have found one particular old traditional Scottish song that I haven’t heard for many a year blasting out. It is a real sweet song called “Wild Mountain Thyme” also known, as “Will You Go Lassie Go” and it seems to sound magical to me sitting in the warmth of Barbados. The Barbados Blog is featuring a version of “Wild Mountain Thyme that is perfomred by a Scottish band called The Silencers.
Wild Girls Dancing Crazily
It is the weekend and it is time to heat things up at The Barbados Blog and I think I have achieved that big time by featuring a video some delightful Caribbean girls dancing in the way that they only can dance. The girls are dancing in a way, which I have personally never experienced in a club before; I guess I haven’t been going to the right clubs!
The video I’m going to feature today is simply called “Dancehall Gals at Tims”
It Is Gospel Time At The Barbados Blog
It is of course Sunday today and I’m in the mood to listen to some gospel music. Today I’m going to feature a medley of Gospel songs from a lady with one of the best voices in the music industry; she is of course the amazing Whitney Houston.
She has had her fair share of problems, but now that she has freed herself from the evil that was around her in that messed up husband of hers. She is definitely back to living her life the way she should be and doing what she does best and that is singing.
